AIRINS – Your eyes on invisible gases

A toxic cloud after an industrial fire. A methane leak along a buried pipeline. PFAS in a watercourse that can’t be reached on foot. In situations like these, information often arrives too late, or not at all.

AIRINS sensors turn a DJI drone into a flying laboratory. Within minutes, you know which gases are present, where they are concentrated and how they are dispersing. All without sending anyone into the hazard zone.

Drone Parts Center is an official AIRINS reseller for the Benelux. We configure each system for your mission, train your teams and provide technical support in French and Dutch, from Nivelles.

From takeoff to report: how it works

1. Configure

Choose the sensor modules that match your mission. Urban air quality? CO, O₃+NO₂, SO₂, particulate matter, TVOC. Industrial leak? CO, H₂S, NH₃, SO₂, TVOC. Methane? A dedicated laser unit or a MetScan, depending on whether you measure in-situ or remotely.

2. Fly

The sensor connects directly to the drone through the E-Port. Concentrations are displayed in real time in DJI Pilot 2: the pilot sees the data during the flight. At the same time, everything is transmitted over 4G to the AIRINS.ai platform. With no network coverage, the Sniffer4D Nano 2 Plus stores up to 12 hours of data and uploads it as soon as the connection is restored.

3. Map

On your screen, the data becomes a map: point cloud, hexagonal grid, heatmap, in both 2D and 3D. Hotspots stand out. You know exactly where to take action.

4. Document

AIRINS.ai generates the mission report: time period, surveyed area, concentration distribution. Export to PDF or editable DOCX, with data in CSV, Shapefile and GeoJSON for your GIS. Everything is ready for your compliance reporting.

Looking for methane on your pipelines or facilities

Measuring methane in the plume or at a distance: Nano 2 Plus Methane and MetScan

MetScan V1P – TDLAS methane screening for large infrastructure

The MetScan does not fly through the gas: it detects it remotely, from the drone, using a TDLAS laser. Mounted on a Matrice 400 or an M350 RTK, it automatically sweeps along pipelines (Belt Scan) or covers facilities in a grid pattern (Facility Scan). Data reaches AIRINS.ai in real time: 3D concentration maps, hotspot localization, ready-to-use inspection reports.

Two plans: Ultra (3D, Sector Scan, GIS exports, on-prem deployment) and Standard (2D, Belt Scan, basic reports). Ultra is also available as a subscription plan, as an alternative to purchase.

The go-to choice for: gas companies, pipeline operators, compliance with the EU Methane Regulation.

MetScan Nano 1F – Forward-facing, for inspecting facility equipment

MetScan technology in a 235-gram form factor, for the Matrice 4D/4TD and Dock 3. The laser points forward, in line with the drone’s camera: the pilot checks a piece of equipment simply by looking at it. Remote methane sensing from 100 to 50,000 ppm·m, with a detection limit of 5 ppm·m under laboratory conditions. The measurement point is pinpointed through synchronization with the drone’s camera. No kit required: the Matrice 4D/4TD mount is included.

MetScan Nano 1D – Downward-facing, for sweeping pipelines and facilities

The same sensor, pointed at the ground, for the Matrice 4D/4TD and Dock 3. The drone sweeps a strip beneath its flight path, and each measurement is positioned on the ground based on the drone’s position and the sensor’s orientation, for more precise 2D localization than with a forward-facing sensor. Designed for repeat missions from a Dock 3 over pipelines, facilities and landfills. The Matrice 4D/4TD mount is included.

Sniffer4D Nano 2 Plus Methane – In-situ methane measurement, down to 200 ppb

A dedicated version of the Nano 2 Plus, with a methane-specific Multi-Pass TDLAS laser measurement chamber. Detection limit of 200 ppb, with a range of 0 to 11,000 ppm. Ideal alongside the MetScan to confirm ground-level concentrations after aerial screening, or for routine surveys of a gas facility or landfill.

Sampling water in inaccessible areas

A drone water sample with the Speedip V2+, in 5 steps

Speedip V2+ – Drone water sampling, PFAS-compatible

The drone flies to the sampling point, lowers the cable, collects the sample and brings it back. Automated through DJI Pilot 2 waypoint missions. The materials are laboratory-validated for PFAS analysis: no cross-contamination.

Two models, one for the Matrice 400 and one for the M350/M300 RTK, each available in a Standard or PFAS-Ready version (three stainless steel containers included).

AIRINS.ai – What you see while the drone is flying

Forget processing CSV files after the mission. With AIRINS.ai, the data appears on your screen while the drone is still in the air.

From sensor to AIRINS.ai: how the data travels

The cloud platform (hosted in Europe, GDPR-compliant) turns raw sensor data into interactive maps. Zoom in on a hotspot, rotate the 3D view, compare several parameters side by side, and understand immediately what is happening on the ground. Geographic zones can start and stop measurement automatically, for missions with no manual intervention.

After the mission, AIRINS.ai generates reports in PDF or DOCX. Data can be exported to Shapefile, GeoJSON and CSV for your GIS, and streamed in real time to your own tools. For methane, source rate quantification (SRQ) calculates emission rates from the mapped plumes.

AIRINS.ai is included with the purchase of a MetScan or Sniffer4D Nano 2 Plus: perpetual use, with one year of warranty, support and software updates. After the first year, the hardware and software remain fully usable. Only the MetScan subscription plan requires opening an account. Advanced features (on-prem deployment, data streaming to your tools, embedding in your web pages, source rate quantification) are available as options.

Three typical missions

Three common scenarios, and the AIRINS system that addresses each one.

Emergency response: an industrial fire releases a smoke cloud

The drone takes off with a Sniffer4D Nano 2 Plus Multi-Gas fitted with modules suited to the site, for example CO, SO2, H2S and fine particles. Within minutes, the incident commander knows which gases are present, at what concentration and in which direction the cloud is moving. The safety perimeter is based on measurements, not on estimates.

Landfill or biogas site: tracking methane over time

A Sniffer4D Nano 2 Plus Methane flies over the site on a repeated flight plan, from a Matrice 4D or a DJI Dock 3. Each campaign produces a concentration map in AIRINS.ai that can be compared with the previous one. To pinpoint a specific leak on an installation, the MetScan targets the source remotely.

Public environmental agency: mapping air quality

Around an industrial zone or a construction site, the Nano 2 Plus measures particles, NO2, O3 or odour along a defined route and produces a pollution map that residents and authorities can easily read. The same units move from one drone to another, so several sites can be covered with a small fleet.

Frequently asked questions

What is AIRINS? Is it new?

AIRINS is the new name of Soarability, the manufacturer of the Sniffer4D, MetScan and Speedip sensors. The company changed its name, not its technology. Drone Parts Center is an official AIRINS reseller for the Benelux.

Which gases can be detected?

The Sniffer4D Nano 2 Plus accepts PM (particulate matter), TSP, O₃+NO₂, NO₂, CO, SO₂, H₂S, NH₃, OU (odor), HCHO (formaldehyde) and TVOC modules, and measures up to six gases simultaneously. For methane, the Nano 2 Plus Methane measures in-situ with a detection limit of 200 ppb, while the MetScan V1P, Nano 1F and Nano 1D detect it remotely by laser.

Is a software subscription required?

No, not with a purchase. AIRINS.ai is included with the MetScan and the Sniffer4D Nano 2 Plus for perpetual use, with one year of warranty, support and software updates. Only the MetScan subscription plan requires opening an account. Advanced features, such as on-prem deployment or source rate quantification, are optional.

What is the delivery lead time?

Every system is custom-configured. Allow 4 to 6 weeks between quote approval and delivery. On-site demonstrations can be arranged: tell us about your mission.

What warranty is included?

Standard one-year warranty. The extension can only be purchased with the initial order, at 20% of the total product value per additional year, up to two years of extension. After the warranty period, the hardware and software remain fully usable.

What is the difference between MetScan Ultra and Standard?

The Ultra plan includes 3D visualization, Sector Scan, GeoJSON and Shapefile exports, on-prem deployment and 250 hours of video storage. The Standard plan is limited to 2D, Belt Scan and CSV exports. Ultra is also available as a subscription plan.

Can I rent the MetScan instead of buying it?

Yes. The Ultra plan of the MetScan V1P and MetScan Nano 1 is available as a subscription plan: a refundable security deposit, a quarterly fee that includes a kilometer allowance, then per-kilometer billing beyond that allowance. Terms and amounts are quoted on request.
