Game counting: night and winter, the best thermal windows
The 640 x 512 px thermal camera (up to 1,280 x 1,024 px in Super Resolution mode) of the DJI Matrice 4T detects roe deer, red deer and wild boar even in dense vegetation, at dawn or dusk. For game counting in Wallonia and the Ardennes, the best conditions occur in winter, from December to February, when vegetation is dormant. The Matrice 4T’s optical zoom makes it possible to identify species and count animals from a distance, without approaching them.
Fawn rescue before mowing: a morning protocol
Every year, between late April and late June, fawns hide in tall grass just as farmers begin mowing their meadows. Thermal detection is at its best at dawn, between 5am and 8am, when the thermal contrast between the animal and the vegetation is greatest. The 21.5-inch Seetec monitor included in the Game Pack, connected via HDMI to the RC Plus 2 remote controller, lets the whole team on site view detected fawns in detail before the machinery passes.
Damage assessment and habitat monitoring
Beyond counting, the Matrice 4T is used to identify feeding and movement zones responsible for crop damage, as well as to map territories, ecological corridors and wildlife resting areas, in the Ardennes as in Campine. The 48 MP wide-angle camera complements the thermal imagery with precise GPS location of field observations.

A tighter association or public budget? The refurbished equipment option
For federations, municipalities or associations with a more limited budget, Drone Parts Center offers used thermal drones and payloads, inspected, flight-tested and covered by a 3 to 6 month warranty depending on the model, with after-sales support at our Nivelles workshop. Stock changes continuously as new units arrive: contact us to be notified when a used thermal model becomes available.

The remote pilot licence
Flying the DJI Matrice 4T requires at least an A2 certificate (open category) or an authorization in the specific category, depending on your flight scenario. We partner with École du Drone, a UAS training centre recognized by the DGTA, which delivers Open (A1/A2/A3), Specific (STS01) and SORA training courses.
DPC product training
Our DJI Enterprise certified trainers organize tailored product training for hands-on use of the thermal Matrice 4T and the Seetec monitor, on-site at our Nivelles workshop. Contact us for a training quote suited to your mission.

Protection and maintenance
The Matrice 4T in your pack is covered by 1 year of DJI Care Enterprise Plus, renewable up to twice. The 2-year Pack Zen, available as an add-on, covers preventive maintenance of your equipment at our Nivelles workshop.

Is flying over Natura 2000 areas allowed?
Flights over Natura 2000 areas may require additional authorizations from the DGTA, depending on your flight scenario. We refer your teams to our partner École du Drone for the corresponding regulatory training.
Can public administrations and associations pay by purchase order?
Yes. Public administrations and institutions in Belgium and Luxembourg can pay by purchase order or administrative mandate. Please specify this in your request, sector “Environment / Non-profit organisation” or “Agriculture” depending on your activity.
