Game Management Thermal Observation Pack — DJI Matrice 4T — United Kingdom
Complete solution for the detection and counting of game by thermal imaging in Belgium. The DJI Matrice 4T combines a 640×512 thermal camera with 16x optical zoom to locate fawns hiding in tall grass, estimate big game populations, and plan hunting management actions—with a large-screen monitor for optimal visualization in the field.
Why the Matrice 4T for game management?
- 640×512 thermal imaging camera — Detection of fawns, roe deer, wild boars and deer even in dense vegetation at dawn or dusk
- 16x optical zoom (56x hybrid) — Accurate species identification and remote counting without disturbing animals
- 48 MP wide-angle camera — Mapping of foraging areas, precise GPS location of observations
- 49 minutes of runtime — Covers large areas of forest and agriculture in a single flight
- 5 batteries in total — 1 half-day prospecting without return to the vehicle
- Seetec 21.5-inch monitor — Detailed viewing of thermal images on a large screen, essential for distinguishing fawns in tall grass
Missions covered by this pack

The Seetec monitor: a decisive asset
The Seetec 21.5-inch Full HD monitor is equipped by us with a field stand and two rechargeable V-Mount batteries. Its brightness of 1000 nits makes it perfectly readable in direct sunlight. Connected via HDMI to the RC Plus 2 remote control, it allows the entire team in the field to see real-time thermal images and locate fawns accurately — much more comfortably than on the remote control screen alone.
Optimal period in Belgium
The thermal detection of fawns is optimal from the end of April to the end of June, at sunrise (5am-8am) when the thermal contrast between the animal and the vegetation is maximum. For the big game count in Wallonia and the Ardennes, the best conditions are in winter (December-February) when the vegetation is at rest.
Regulatory framework in Belgium
The DJI Matrice 4T requires at least an A2 (open category) certificate or a specific category authorization depending on the flight scenario. Overflights of Natura 2000 areas may require additional authorisations from the DGTA. PIM Consult, based in Nivelles, supports you in your efforts and offers certified training.
