Who is it for?

The Dock 3 is designed for organizations with a recurring, not occasional, need for aerial surveillance or first response on a defined perimeter.

Industrial and Logistics Sites

Logistics depots, power plants, petrochemical sites and refineries: the Dock 3 automates perimeter aerial patrols. The drone takes off on schedule or on alarm trigger, flies over the area and streams live thermal video to the remote operator, to detect intrusions, abnormal heat build-up and thermal leaks.

Port Areas

At ports and border areas, permanent aerial coverage of a large site usually requires several ground teams. The Dock 3 provides automatic patrols combining thermal and visible imagery, with automatic drone launch on intrusion detection, ahead of ground team arrival.

Police Zones (Drone as First Responder)

For law enforcement and emergency services, the Dock 3 operates as a drone as first responder (DFR): the drone takes off automatically as soon as the alert is triggered and arrives on scene ahead of ground teams, providing live thermal imagery to decision-makers. Several Belgian police zones have already validated this type of deployment for sensitive perimeter surveillance and emergency response support.

How It Works: Dock 3, Matrice 4TD and FlightHub 2 in 3 Steps

1. Detection and Trigger

A perimeter alarm, a third-party sensor or a manual command triggers the mission from FlightHub 2. Missions are scheduled in advance (hourly patrols, predefined routes) or launched automatically on event, via API integration with your existing systems (VMS, SCADA).

2. Automatic Take-off

The Dock 3 opens its roof and the Matrice 4TD takes off in 10 seconds, with no human intervention on site. Thanks to the Open and Fly function in FlightHub 2, the drone can reach a point 1 km away and 100 m in altitude in under 100 seconds, for maximum responsiveness in the event of an alert.

3. Alarm Verification and Live Feed

The Matrice 4TD’s 640 x 512 px thermal camera and 112x hybrid optical zoom stream live footage to the operator, from a simple web browser, wherever they are. Once the mission is complete, the drone returns to the dock with centimeter-level precision and recharges automatically in 27 minutes, ready for the next mission.

Typical Scenarios

  • Scheduled patrol: automatic perimeter patrol at regular intervals, same route, same data quality, without tying up a pilot.
  • Alarm verification: automatic drone launch as soon as an alarm or suspicious movement is detected, with immediate visual feedback to the operator.
  • DFR intervention: for law enforcement and emergency services, the drone is airborne before ground teams arrive, with video relay to the command post.

Free Feasibility Study

Before any installation, our team based in Nivelles carries out a free feasibility study covering:

  • 4G coverage;
  • obstacles;
  • flight zones;
  • power supply;
  • EASA and Belgian DGTA compliance.

We also support you in your dealings with Skeyes and STS01 and SORA training.

Installation, Training and Maintenance

Installation and commissioning are included. Your operators complete two days of FlightHub 2 training (onboarding, then advanced Dock 3 configuration). The Matrice 4TD included in the package comes with 1 year of DJI Care Enterprise Plus, renewable up to 2 times. The Pack Zen Plus 2 years covers complete drone and dock maintenance by our Nivelles workshop.

Infrastructure Questions

Site Requirements

Installing a Dock 3 relies on three requirements:

  • Concrete slab: flat, stable surface to anchor the station (minimum dimensions provided by DJI).
  • Power supply: connection to the site’s electrical grid.
  • Network connection: 4G or fiber for communication between the dock and FlightHub 2.

Data Hosting: Cloud or On-Premises

FlightHub 2 is available in several versions depending on your data sovereignty requirements.

  • FlightHub 2 Business (included in the package): cloud platform hosted on AWS servers in Virginia and Frankfurt, certified ISO/IEC 27001 and ISO 27701. Suited to most organizations.
  • FlightHub 2 Enterprise: same security guarantees, with unlimited cloud storage and dedicated quotas per connected device (rather than pooled), for intensively operated Dock fleets.
  • FlightHub 2 On-Premises: deployment in a fully isolated intranet environment, with no transmission to external servers, via an AIO hardware appliance. Recommended for defense, energy, critical infrastructure and police and emergency services handling confidential data.

Regulatory Framework

The Dock 3 operates in BVLOS (Beyond Visual Line of Sight, outside the pilot’s direct view). This type of operation falls under the specific category of European EASA regulations and requires an authorization based on a SORA (Specific Operations Risk Assessment) risk assessment, with the file submitted to the DGTA in Belgium. The Dock 3 and the Matrice 4D/4TD drones are C2 and C6 certified by EASA, a dual certification essential for automated operations in the specific category. Police and emergency services operate under legal exemptions and do not need derived EASA authorizations for their BVLOS missions. Drone Parts Center supports its private clients throughout the complete SORA file process, from initial risk assessment to obtaining authorization.

Matrice 4TD or Matrice 4D: Which Drone for Your Dock 3?

The M4TD is the obvious choice for any mission requiring thermal detection or night operations (site surveillance, public safety, search and rescue), while the M4D is suited to documentation and inspection operations in daytime conditions, with no need for thermal vision.

Frequently Asked Questions

Yes. The Dock 3 operates in BVLOS (outside the pilot’s direct view), under the specific category of EASA regulations. An authorization based on a SORA risk assessment is required, with the file submitted to the DGTA in Belgium. Police and emergency services benefit from legal exemptions for this type of mission. Drone Parts Center supports its private clients in preparing the SORA file.

No pilot is needed on site. Your operators plan and supervise missions from FlightHub 2, via a simple web browser, wherever they are. Two days of training (Level 1 and Level 2 Dock 3) are included in the package to structure this onboarding.

The Dock 3 is IP56 certified and operates from -30°C to +50°C. The maximum wind speed supported at landing is 12 m/s (official DJI specifications). The Matrice 4TD, IP55 certified, also features a Night Scene mode and auxiliary NIR lighting for night operations.

The complete cycle triggers within 55 seconds of receiving the alert. The drone takes off in 10 seconds and, thanks to the Open and Fly function in FlightHub 2, can reach a point 1 km away and 100 m in altitude in under 100 seconds.

The package includes the Pack Zen Plus 2 years, which covers complete drone and station maintenance by our Nivelles workshop. The Matrice 4TD also comes with 1 year of DJI Care Enterprise Plus, renewable up to 2 times.

Yes. FlightHub 2 On-Premises allows deployment in a fully isolated intranet environment, with no transmission to external servers, via an AIO hardware appliance. This option is designed for organizations subject to strict cybersecurity requirements (defense, energy, critical infrastructure, police and emergency services).
