Presentation
The Sniffer4D Nuclear Radiation Detector is an airborne sensor that allows you to measure and map gamma and neutron radiation levels by drone. It eliminates the need to send personnel to potentially contaminated areas.
DJI drone compatibility
| Drone | Integration |
|---|---|
| DJI Matrix 400 | Payload Mounting |
| DJI M350 / M300 RTK | Mounting payload |
Use cases
- Inspection of nuclear power plants — Mapping of radiation levels around facilities
- Post-accident response — Rapid assessment of contamination without exposure of personnel
- Environmental monitoring — Regular monitoring of radioactive waste storage areas
- Civil security — Detection of lost or abandoned radioactive sources
AIRINS.ai Software
Radiation data is visualized on AIRINS.ai in real-time with 2D/3D mapping of radiation levels, enabling quick and documented decision-making.

Frequently asked questions
Is the radiation sensor configurable like the multi-gas Sniffer4D?
No, the radiation detector is a fixed product (no interchangeable modules). It is specifically designed for the detection of gamma and neutron radiation.
Can the radiation sensor be combined with a multi-gas Sniffer4D?
Both sensors can be deployed on separate missions. For dual detection (radiation + gas) on the same site, contact us to discuss the optimal configuration.
Is DPC an authorized AIRINS reseller?
Yes, Drone Parts Center is an authorized AIRINS dealer for Belgium.

Can the radiation detector measure accumulated doses?
The sensor measures the dose rate in real time (μSv/h) and detects gamma and neutron radiation. The data is transmitted live via AIRINS.ai, which makes it possible to map radiation levels and calculate integrated doses over the duration of the mission.
What is the flight range with the radiation sensor mounted?
The autonomy depends on the carrier drone. On a DJI Matrice 400 RTK, allow about 35-40 minutes of flight time with the sensor mounted. On an M350 RTK, the battery life is around 30-35 minutes. The sensor is lightweight and only marginally impacts the endurance of the drone.
Does the system require regular calibration?
The radiation sensor is factory calibrated and does not require frequent user calibration. AIRINS recommends an annual referral for verification and recalibration if necessary. A calibration certificate is provided at each check.
