DJI Terra Standard offline: professional mapping without internet
The DJI Terra Standard offline 1-year license allows you to process your drone data in a completely disconnected environment. This photogrammetry and mapping software works without an internet connection after activation. It is aimed at professionals who handle sensitive data or who operate in areas without network coverage.
With a 12-month annual subscription, you get access to all of DJI Terra’s Standard features as well as software updates released during the validity period. The license takes effect on the date of the offline certificate exchange.
Data security and complete privacy
The offline version ensures that your data remains strictly local. All processing is carried out on your computer, without any transmission to external servers. This architecture meets the requirements of organizations with strict cybersecurity protocols.
Activation is done via CodeMeter software and a secure license file. Updates are manually transferred from a connected workstation, maintaining an environment that is completely isolated from the network.
Industries affected by the offline version
- Defence and national security: military sites and sensitive areas of operation
- Energy and critical infrastructure: power plants, power grids, nuclear sites
- Extractive Industry: Mining and Quarrying in Remote Areas with No Network Coverage
- Public security: police and rescue services handling confidential data
2D photogrammetry and 3D reconstruction
DJI Terra Standard generates real digital orthophotos (TDOMs), digital surface models (DSMs), and mesh 3D models from your aerial images. The results meet professional mapping standards, including the 1:500 standard with RTK-enabled drones.
Files are exported in formats that are compatible with common GIS and CAD software. Use TIFF for orthophotos, LAS for point clouds, and OBJ for 3D models. This compatibility ensures seamless integration into your existing processing chains.
Map deliverables
- High-resolution digital real orthophotos (TDOM)
- Digital Surface Models (DSMs) for Elevation Analysis
- Mesh 3D models for building and terrain visualization
- Dense point clouds for volumetric calculations
Built-in LiDAR processing
DJI Terra Standard processes data collected by Zenmuse LiDAR sensors, including the Zenmuse L3. The software merges LiDAR data and visible-light images to simultaneously produce accurate point clouds, 2D maps, and 3D models.
This complete integration between sensor and software simplifies the workflow in the field. A single acquisition mission is enough to generate all the deliverables expected by your clients.
Multispectral reconstruction for agriculture
Based on data from the DJI Mavic 3 Multispectral, DJI Terra Standard produces NDVI and NDRE vegetation index maps. The software also handles radiometric correction and the generation of reflectance maps for remote sensing research.
These tools meet the needs of agronomists and farmers who monitor the health of their crops. Offline processing ensures the confidentiality of sensitive parcel data.
Compatibility with the DJI Enterprise ecosystem
DJI Terra Standard offline works with flagship Enterprise Series drones and sensors. Combined with the DJI Matrice 4E, Matrice 400, Zenmuse P1, Zenmuse L3 and D-RTK 3, it covers the full range of visible mapping and LiDAR acquisition needs.
This integrated ecosystem eliminates compatibility issues between collection and processing. From the flight mission to the final deliverable, you remain in a unified and controlled environment.
1-year offline license: what you need to know
The offline annual license takes effect on the date of exchange of the license certificate, not the date of purchase. It is linked to the hardware of the computer on which it is activated. A change in motherboard, processor or hard drive invalidates the license.
Unlike the Online version, which tolerates a temporary disconnection of 3 days, the Offline version works permanently without internet. This is the recommended option if your processing station never has access to the network.
Limitations of Offline Mode
Three connected features are not available in offline mode. These restrictions do not affect data processing but limit certain ancillary functions.
- Unlocking DJI GEO zones is not accessible
- Basemap loading and location search are disabled
- Some flight control functions are restricted without a connected DJI account
1-year offline license vs. permanent offline license
If you are hesitating between the two formulas, the annual license is suitable for fixed-term projects or teams who want to test the tool before a permanent investment. The offline permanent license is more advantageous for regular use over several years.
How to activate DJI Terra Standard offline license
Activating the offline license takes place in four steps. You will need temporary internet access on a computer, not necessarily the one that will be tied to the license. Allow about 30 minutes for the entire procedure.
Step 1: Install DJI Terra and CodeMeter
Install DJI Terra on the workstation that will be linked to the license. Then go to the DJI Terra installation folder and then the CodeMeter > Installer subfolder. Launch the CodeMeterRuntime.exe file and follow the instructions until the installation is complete.
Step 2: Generate the license request (. WibuCmRaC)
In the DJI Terra installation folder, open the CodeMeter subfolder > LIF file and double-click the Terra_license file. WibuCmLIF to import the model. Then open the CodeMeter Control Center and follow these steps:
- Click on “License Update” in the CodeMeter interface
- Select “Create license request” and click “Next”
- Choose a save location and click “Commit”
- A . WibuCmRaC is generated: this is your license request
Caution: Do not modify the computer’s motherboard, processor, or hard drive after this step. Any material changes would invalidate the licence application.
Step 3: Redeem the activation code
From a computer connected to the internet, go to the DJI Trade-In Page (terra-license.djiservice.org). Fill in your email address, the redemption code provided by Drone Parts Center and upload the . WibuCmRaC. Select “First-time Exchange” and confirm.
You will receive an authorization file in . WibuCmRaU in the following minutes. If the target workstation does not have internet access, transfer this file via USB stick.
Step 4: Import the license and start
Copy the . WibuCmRaU on the computer linked to the license. Double-click to import it into CodeMeter. A notification confirms the activation. Launch DJI Terra and click “Offline Login” to access all Standard features.
If there is an activation problem
If DJI Terra displays “No permission to use”, check your computer’s system time. Open the CodeMeter Control Center, click on “WebAdmin” and compare the system time of the PC with that of the CodeMeter container. The tolerated deviation is less than 3 minutes. Our technical team can assist you in case of difficulty.
