DJI remote controller compatibility with drones: the 2026 guide

A DJI remote controller does not work with every drone in the range: compatibility depends on the drone’s video transmission system and, sometimes, on the firmware version. This guide lists, drone by drone, the remote controllers that DJI states as compatible on its official pages (specifications, FAQs, store and release notes), checked in October 2026.

An empty cell in the Transmission column means that DJI does not state it clearly on the pages checked. The RC Motion controllers are used with compatible DJI Goggles. For the DJI Mini 2 and the DJI Mini SE, please refer to the DJI documentation for your drone: we did not find an up-to-date official list.
Why a remote controller does not work with every drone
Each generation of DJI drones uses its own video transmission system (O2, O3, O3+, O4, O4+). A remote controller only communicates with the systems DJI designed and updated it for. This is why the DJI RC (RM330), designed for the Mini 3 Pro and the Mavic 3 series, does not appear in the lists for the Mini 4 Pro or the Air 3, for which DJI states the RC-N2, the RC-N3 or the DJI RC 2.
Before buying a remote controller
- Check the exact model of your drone: a Mavic 3, a Mavic 3 Classic and a Mavic 3 Pro do not have exactly the same list.
- Update both the drone and the remote controller: some compatibilities arrive through an update (for example, the DJI RC has supported the Mavic 3 Pro since version v01.03.0100).
- A new remote controller must be linked to the drone and to your DJI account in DJI Fly.
- If in doubt, contact us before ordering: we check compatibility using your model number.

DJI states the RC-N3, the DJI RC 2 and the DJI RC Pro 2.
Does the DJI RC 2 work with the Mavic 3?
DJI does not list it for the Mavic 3 series. For these drones, DJI states the RC-N1 (Mavic 3, Classic and Pro), the DJI RC and the DJI RC Pro.
Which remote controller for the DJI Mavic 4 Pro?
DJI states the DJI RC 2 and the DJI RC Pro 2.
Do I need to update the remote controller?
Yes. Some compatibilities only exist from a specific firmware version of the remote controller or the drone. Update both before linking them for the first time.
