Which drones is the DJI RC compatible with?

DJI lists eight compatible drones. For some of them, support was added through a remote controller update: update it before pairing for the first time.

What about newer drones?

DJI does not list the DJI RC for the next generation of drones, which use O4 transmission. For the DJI Mini 4 Pro and DJI Air 3, DJI specifies the RC-N2, RC-N3, DJI RC 2 and DJI RC Pro 2 remote controllers. The Air 3S, Mini 5 Pro, Mavic 4 Pro, Mini 2, Mini 4K and Air 2 are not on the DJI RC list either. If you are unsure about your drone, ask us before ordering.

Getting started: activation, pairing and updates

1. Activation on first power-up: choose your language and country, connect the remote controller to Wi-Fi, then sign in to your DJI account.
2. Pairing with the drone: power on the drone and the remote controller, open DJI Fly, then go to ••• > Control > Pair to Aircraft. Press and hold the drone’s power button for more than 4 seconds: it beeps once, then twice when pairing is complete. Stay within 50 cm of the drone.
3. Updating: with the drone connected, follow the notification; without the drone, go to Profile > Settings > Firmware Update. You need more than 20% battery and an internet connection; allow about 15 minutes.
4. Pairing a new remote controller unpairs the old one, which is exactly what you want with a replacement remote controller.

Use and care

• Recharge the remote controller at least every 3 months when not in use: the battery discharges during storage.
• For transport, unscrew the control sticks and store them in their slots underneath the remote controller.
• Use a microSD card rated UHS-I U3 or faster: slower cards are rejected.
• The remote controller turns itself off after 5 minutes of inactivity, following an audible alert.
