DJI Mavic 3 – Side Vision System Module and Upper

The side and top view module of the DJI Mavic 3 integrates the obstacle detection sensors positioned on the sides and top of the drone. This system is part of the APAS 5.0 (Advanced Pilot Assistance System) which ensures the automatic avoidance of obstacles in all directions.

Function

Side and top binocular vision sensors detect obstacles within a radius of up to 38 meters to the sides and 44 meters upwards. This part is essential to the operation of the Mavic 3’s omnidirectional sensing system.

Symptoms of a faulty module

A malfunction manifests itself in error alerts in DJI Fly, automatic deactivation of the side and top APAS, or impossible calibration messages. Replacement restores full obstacle detection.
