Install DJI Terra and activate an offline license
For a processing PC with no Internet connection: software installation, license request, exchange with DJI and activation, step by step.
At a glance
An offline license lets you use the paid features of DJI Terra on a computer that is never connected to the Internet. It is tied to that specific computer. The license file is prepared from any other computer with an Internet connection.
Before you start
The processing PC
- Windows 10 or later, 64-bit
- Intel Core i5 processor or higher
- NVIDIA graphics card with compute capability 6.1 or higher (preferably GeForce GTX 1050 Ti or higher), 4 GB of video memory or more
- 32 GB of RAM or more
- 200 GB of free space, preferably on an SSD
- Up-to-date graphics card driver
What you need
- The exchange code for your license, provided by Drone Parts Center
- A second computer connected to the Internet
- A USB drive to move files from one computer to the other
- The email address that will receive the license file
1. Install DJI Terra
Download the software
On the connected computer, open the official download page enterprise.dji.com/dji-terra/downloads and download the Windows version of DJI Terra (.iso file). Copy this file to the USB drive, then to the processing PC.
Open the ISO file and start the installation
In File Explorer, right-click the ISO file and choose Open: Windows displays it as a disc drive. Open this drive and double-click Terra.exe. If the ISO does not open, extract it with 7-Zip or WinRAR and run Terra.exe from the extracted folder.
Windows asks for permission to make changes: click Yes. The installation requires administrator rights.
Follow the setup wizard
Choose the language, the installation folder and the shortcuts you want, check the summary, then click Install. A black command window opens while the driver is being installed: this is normal. When it finishes, launch DJI Terra or restart the computer if the wizard prompts you to.

2. Create the license request
These steps are done on the processing PC, the one that will use the license.
Install CodeMeter
CodeMeter is the license manager used by DJI Terra. In the DJI Terra installation folder, open CodeMeter > Installer, run CodeMeterRuntime.exe and follow the instructions.
Import the Terra license template
Still in the installation folder, open CodeMeter > LIF and double-click Terra_license.WibuCmLIF. Wait for the confirmation message.
Generate the request file (.WibuCmRaC)
Open CodeMeter Control Center, select the Terra Container and click License Update.
Save the request
Choose Create license request, then Next. Specify the file location and name, then click Commit. Copy the resulting .WibuCmRaC file to the USB drive.

3. Exchange the license with DJI
This step is done on the connected computer.
Fill in the exchange page
Open terra-license.djiservice.org, Single Device License Exchange tab (the language can be changed at the top right), then enter:
- Email: the address that will receive the license file;
- Exchange Type: First-time Exchange for a first activation;
- Exchange Code: the exchange code provided by Drone Parts Center;
- License File: click Upload and choose the .WibuCmRaC file.
Click Next to confirm the exchange.
Receive the license file
DJI sends the .WibuCmRaU license file as an email attachment to the address you entered. Save it to the USB drive.
4. Activate the license on the processing PC
Import the license
Copy the .WibuCmRaU file to the processing PC, the same one that created the request, then double-click it. Wait for the message confirming that the update was successful.
Log in offline
Launch DJI Terra and click Offline Login. The features of your license are available without an Internet connection.
Good to know
- Updates. A perpetual license includes free updates for one year from its first binding. After that, a perpetual license upgrade is required to install new versions.
- Changing computers or hardware. If the license becomes invalid after a hardware change, you need to request a license unbinding from DJI support. A license for one device can be unbound once per calendar year.
- Network features unavailable offline, according to the DJI guide: GEO zone unlocking, map loading and location search; during mission flights with a drone, altitude is limited to 30 m and distance to 50 m.
