Two paths lead further, and they are not equivalent:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>Class C5 retrofit<\/strong>: fitting the <a href=\"https:\/\/drone-parts-center.com\/en\/product\/dji-ap100-parachute-for-matrice-400\/\">DJI AP100<\/a> parachute to a Matrice 400 you already own meets the class C5 requirements. Regulation (EU) 2019\/945 explicitly provides, in Part 16, a conversion kit route to this class. It unlocks the standard scenario <strong>STS-01<\/strong> (visual line-of-sight flight over populated areas).<\/li>\n<li><strong>Factory C6 combo<\/strong>: this is what you&#8217;re buying here. Regulation (EU) 2019\/945 provides no equivalent conversion kit to class C6 in its Part 17: this label can only come from a manufacturer-certified system, never from a parachute fitted afterwards by the operator. It unlocks the standard scenario <strong>STS-02<\/strong> (BVLOS flight, with airspace observers, over a controlled ground area located in a sparsely populated environment).<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>This combo is not the only route to C6: the DJI Matrice 4D and DJI Matrice 4TD also provide access to it, as does a DJI upgrade programme for a Matrice 400 already certified C3. In that case, DJI After-Sales inspects the aircraft and the AP100 parachute, updates the firmware, applies the C3+C6 label and attaches the compliance statement: allow 1 to 2 weeks, mostly logistics.
